Gidon Kremer has become the Glenn Gould of the violin technically
brilliant, eccentric and fascinating in his choice of music and quirky
interpretations. In this case, he's wedded Antonio Vivaldi's The
Four Seasons with the tango-flavored Four Seasons of Buenos
Aires by Astor Piazzola. The performance by Kremer and his small,
hand-picked orchestra stylishly illuminates the similarities and contrasts
between the rustic Vivaldi and the urban Piazzola.
