Butchies, Indigo Girls On Tami Hart Debut

Nineteen-year-old singer/songwriter Tami Hart will release her debut album, No Light in August, May 2 on Mr. Lady Records, the label said. The emotive acoustic disc includes guest work from members of punk act the Butchies as well as backing vocals from Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls. Hart, who lives in Durham, N.C., sent Mr. Lady an unsolicited tape last year. Label owners, including the Butchies' Kaia Wilson, grew attached after several listens and included Hart's "Wait for Me Now" on the New Women's Music Sampler (1999). Hart plans to tour in the spring.
