The first single from Eminem's upcoming follow-up to The Slim Shady LP will be "The Real Slim Shady," an Interscope Records spokesperson said. The Marshall Mathers LP is scheduled for release May 23, Dennis Dennehy said. Dr. Dre and the Funky Bass Team will share production duties once again. On the strength of three tracks produced by Dre — "My Name Is," "Guilty Conscience" and "Role Model" — The Slim Shady LP (1999) went triple-platinum and established the 25-year-old Eminem as a star. Eminem also appears on two songs on Dre's album Dr. Dre 2001 — "What's the Difference" and "Forgot About Dre."
