Muse, Quickspace, Run-D.M.C., Lois ...

Brit-rock trio Muse have had a busy year, having already toured Germany with Bush. The lads may just be old enough to drink by the time they return to the States this month with the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters. After April 12, the opening slot will be taken over by the Bicycle Thief. Muse's full-length debut, Showbiz, was released in the U.S. in September.

English pop quintet Quickspace, formerly Quickspace Supersport, are taking their dense, eclectic and happy songs on a trip across the U.S. with Yo La Tengo through April 4. Their third full-length album, The Death of Quickspace, is hopefully not, and is due on Matador on March 21.

Rap pioneers Run-D.M.C. are on tour through May 5, when they'll appear at the Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis with Sevendust, Medeski Martin & Wood, George Thorogood and Stroke 9. The trio's long-awaited new album, Crown Royal, originally scheduled for an October release, will include collaborations with the Beastie Boys, Sugar Ray, Aerosmith, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Method Man and Nas, to name a few.

Lo-fi indie-rock singer Lois Maffeo, her eponymous band and their pretty folk-pop ditties will spend the next month on the road. Also keep an eye out for her at Ladyfest 2000 in August, with Sleater-Kinney, Bratmobile, Sarah Dougher and many others. Lois' most recent release is 1996's Infinity Plus, but Maffeo's latest project, Union Themes, an album recorded with frequent collaborator and Fugazi drummer Brendan Canty, came out March 14.
