Witness, the human-rights organization co-founded by worldbeat musician Peter Gabriel, has launched a new Web site called the Witness Rights Alert (www.oddcast.com/witness). Every other week, the page will present a new video documenting human-rights abuses, introduced by people such as Gabriel, Lou Reed and actor Tim Robbins. Founded in 1992, Witness has provided video cameras to 125 activist groups in 47 countries to help expose and document the crimes of human-rights violators. "Witness stories are told through the eyes of women and men who are fighting for human rights, and they offer real ways for online visitors to get involved in campaigns," Gabriel said in a statement.
