Looper, Aphrodite, Peter Murphy, Papas Fritas ...

Stuart David, former bassist for Scottish indie darlings Belle and Sebastian, will be traveling the States in March with his wife and Looper partner, Karn David, playing the duo's critically acclaimed story-songs. Looper's debut album, Up a Tree, was released in March 1999. Oh yeah, and they'll be opening for the Flaming Lips.

Jump up drum & bass/jungle king Gavin King, a.k.a. Aphrodite, is bringing his hip-hop, jazz, techno and bubbly, bass-heavy funk to the U.S. for a monthlong club tour. The DJ/producer's most recent album, Aphrodite, was released in October.

Dark prince Peter Murphy is taking his booming voice and an all-star cast of backing musicians on the road next month for his first solo tour in five years. Comprising his band will be former Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery, former Love and Rockets drummer and Murphy's former Bauhaus bandmate Kevin Haskins, Love and Rockets producer Doug DeAngelis on keyboards and Porno for Pyros guitarist Peter DiStefano.
