Latin-rock band Santana's Supernatural, at eight-times platinum, has become the top-selling album by a Latin artist ever, according to a release from the Recording Industry Association of America. The album, which generated nine honors at last week's Grammy Awards, has sold more than 6.1 million copies to date. The RIAA certifies albums as platinum when 1 million units have been shipped to stores. Supernatural has spent eight weeks at #1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and its single, "Smooth," spent more than three months at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Santana's last #1 album was 1971's Santana III.
