Latifah, Etheridge To Play Gay-Rights Fest

Equality Rocks concert will take place in Washington, D.C., in late April.

Rapper Queen Latifah, rocker Melissa Etheridge and pop artists George Michael and the Pet Shop Boys will play the Equality Rocks gay-rights benefit, at Washington, D.C.'s RFK Stadium on April 29, organizers said. The show, which also will include country singers Garth Brooks and k.d. lang, will benefit the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, a group that works toward equality and tolerance for gays and lesbians. "I am proud to be a part of the largest concert in history that is dedicated to basic equal rights for gay Americans," Etheridge said in a statement.
