Sakamoto, Badalamenti Scores Compiled

Movie music by Oscar winner Ryuichi Sakamoto, Angelo Badalamenti and Devo founder Mark Mothersbaugh will appear on IFC — In Your Ear Vol. 2: Scores!, a collection due March 21 from 1m1 Trax/The Engine Group. It's the second compilation of music from movies broadcast on the Independent Film Channel, a cable television station. The first disc, released in February 1999, featured songs by Tom Waits, the Pogues and Morphine. The new collection highlights instrumental music from films including David Lynch's "Lost Highway," Alex Cox's "Repo Man" and Hal Hartley's "Trust." Other composers on the collection include former Police drummer Stewart Copeland, James Newton Howard and directors Hal Hartley and Sally Potter, who often compose their own scores.
