Rage, Dylan Label Approves Custom CDs

Sony will allow fans to make handpicked discs through CustomDisc.com.

Sony Music, whose various labels are home to artists such as Rage Against the Machine, Jennifer Lopez, Oasis and Bob Dylan, will begin selling customized CDs through CustomDisc.com this spring, CustomDisc said Tuesday. The program invites music fans to handpick tracks for unique CDs and MiniDiscs, and also allows Sony to reintroduce out-of-print back catalog albums. EMI, which releases albums by the Beastie Boys and the Beatles, announced a similar deal with musicmaker.com last year.
