Styx Singer To Perform With Orchestra

Show is Dennis DeYoung's first since becoming bedridden with flu for a year.

Styx singer Dennis DeYoung will perform with a 50-piece orchestra at the Rosemont Theater in Chicago on Saturday (Feb. 12), his first public performance since becoming bedridden with a virulent flu for nearly a year. It also will mark the first time DeYoung has performed without his veteran rock band, which is touring overseas in support of its album Brave New World (1999). The group's publicist said the show will feature a mix of Styx standards and excerpts from DeYoung's musical "The Hunchback of Notre Dame," which played to encouraging reviews in Nashville, in 1997.
