Gold-Certified 311 To Kick Off U.S. Trek

Funk-metal rockers Jimmie's Chicken Shack will join the two-month-long tour.

The high-energy funk-rock of 311 is on its way to a town near you, as the band preps for a two-month-long theater tour, according to Capricorn Records.

Beginning Feb. 5 in Las Vegas, the Omaha, Neb., quintet will roam the States, ending the trek March 30 in Salt Lake City.

311 gained popularity with the 1996 single "Down" and scored another hit with "Beautiful Disaster" (RealAudio excerpt) from 1997's Transistor. Their latest album, Soundsystem (Oct. 12), which includes the singles "Come Original" and "Flowing," has been certified gold.

Joining 311 on the road are eclectic funk-metal rockers Jimmie's Chicken Shack.
