Singer/songwriter Bob Dylan and classical violin virtuoso Isaac Stern have won the Royal Swedish Academy of Music's Polar Music Prize, Reuters reported. They'll each be awarded about $120,000 by Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf during a ceremony in Stockholm on May 15. "Through his modest, persuasive musical approach, [Dylan] has demonstrated an impressive ability to question the most determined political forces, to fight all forms of prejudice and to offer unflinching support for the less fortunate," the academy was quoted as saying in a statement. Past recipients include Bruce Springsteen and former Beatles bassist Paul McCartney.
