Ramones To Launch Website With CBGB Party

Ramones, Beck, DMX, Shania Twain, Elton John, Trance Control, Hole, Public Enemy, Poor Righteous Teachers, Christina Aguilera, Creed ...

Punk icons the Ramones will celebrate the launch of their official website (officialramones.com), with a show at the New York club CBGB on Dec. 17, according to a spokesperson for the defunct group. Ramones cover bands are invited to apply to play the event, with the lucky faux Ramones winning a chance to jam with an unnamed bandmember. The site, the first official home of the three-chord punk godfathers, launched Dec. 1. The event will be cybercast on collegemusic.com. Most of the former members of the group — which broke up in 1996 after 22 years together — gathered in New York in July to sign copies of their two-CD set, Hey! Ho! Let's Go!: The Ramones Anthology.
