Upcoming Lennon Film Features Unreleased Footage

John Lennon, Bob Marley, Coolio, Beastie Boys, Garbage, Oasis, Ben Harper, Jam, Steve Foth ...

A new 56-minute film titled "Gimme Some Truth" will feature previously

unreleased footage of John Lennon in his home studio in 1971,

according to an online report from Billboard magazine. The footage

was compiled from 16mm film shot by Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono,

while Lennon was recording his 1971 solo album Imagine at his

estate in Tittenhurst Park, Ascot, England. The film reportedly features

scenes of Lennon at work with producer Phil Spector and fellow

ex-Beatle George Harrison. Also included are visits to the couple

from Jack Nicholson, Andy Warhol and Miles Davis. Picture Music

International has sold the film to broadcasters in 13 countries, and EMI

plans to release the film on DVD in fall 2000. EMI's record label will

release a remastered Imagine CD (with possible alternate takes

included) to coincide with the DVD release.
