Dolly Parton, who was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame earlier this month, covers Billy Joel's "Travelin' Prayer" on The Grass Is Blue (Oct. 26), her first all-bluegrass album. "To me, it's a bluegrass song as soon as you take out the piano," Parton said in a statement. The album also includes covers of classic tracks by Flatt and Scruggs and the Louvin Brothers, remakes of some vintage Parton tunes ("Will He Be Waiting for Me," "Steady as the Rain"), and a few new Parton originals. "The Grass Is Blue is the purest thing I've ever done," Parton said. Buddha Records, meanwhile, has just re-released Parton's country album Coat of Many Colors (1971) and pop album 9 to 5 and Odd Jobs (1980).
