Sony To Reissue Vintage Byrds LPs

Sony Legacy is preparing the release of several items in its catalog of

recordings by folk-rock pioneers the Byrds. Byrdmaniax

(1971) and Farther Along (1972), two LPs unavailable on CD, now

will be released in that format with bonus tracks. Previously unreleased

songs include "Bag Full of Money" and a version of Bob Dylan's

"Just Like a Woman." A previously untitled double LP will be issued for

the first time on CD — as Untitled/Unissued — and will

include an additional CD with newly discovered material from the original

sessions. Tracks include "Kathleen's Song" and "Yesterday's Train." A

new Byrds LP, Live at the Fillmore 1969, documenting a show at

the Fillmore West in February of that year, also is being readied. Tom

Cording of Sony Legacy said the LPs will be issued in mid-February.
