Kula Shaker singer/guitarist Crispian Mills has announced
he is leaving the British rock band for a solo career. "I have loved my
time with Kula Shaker and have experienced more than I could ever have
imagined," Mills wrote in a posting on the band's website (www.kulashaker.co.uk).
"We've had an excellent time and been a very tight band, but there comes
a time when you want to do your own thing." The remaining members have
not yet announced their plans, according to the site. Their Columbia
Records spokesperson could not be reached at press time. Mills wrote that
he's been writing songs since the release of Kula Shaker's Peasants,
Pigs and Astronauts (1999) and has "lots of songs ready."
