The music-piracy case filed recently against 17-year-old Swede Tommy
Olsen was dismissed Wednesday (Sept. 15), according to Adrian Strain,
spokesperson for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry.
IFPI's Swedish branch brought charges against Olsen, saying his website,
which included links to songs in MP3 format on the Net, was an infringement
of copyright. A district judge dismissed the case because the teen did
not house the files on his own site. IFPI is now studying the ruling and
may file new charges against Olsen for assisting in copyright infringement,
