Crow, Earle On TV Tribute To Gram Parsons

Sheryl Crow, Emmylou Harris, Steve Earle and Victoria Williams are among the singers scheduled to tape a tribute to country-rock pioneer Gram Parsons for PBS television's "Sessions at West 54th" Sunday (Sept. 19) in New York. Most of the performers, who also include the Mavericks, John Hiatt, Gillian Welch and ex-Byrd bassist Chris Hillman, appear on Return of the Grievous Angel (1999), a Parsons tribute album that Harris produced. Singer/songwriter Parsons, who died in 1973, is best-known for his stints with the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers. The one-hour "Sessions" episode is expected to air Nov. 5, a show spokesperson said.
