Seattle rockers Pearl Jam recently entered a studio to begin work
on their seventh studio album, according to the group's spokesperson.
Producer Tchad Blake (Tom Waits, Sheryl Crow) is
helping the band on the untitled work, which is slated for release in
early 2000. PJ are planning a tour in support of the LP, the source said,
adding that it was unclear if they plan to debut any of the new songs
during their appearance at this year's Bridge School Benefit concerts
(Oct. 3031), organized by grunge godfather Neil Young. Pearl
Jam's most recent studio album, Yield, was released in 1998.
