Smash Mouth, Semisonic On 'Friends' Soundtrack Sequel

The sequel to the soundtrack from the NBC-TV sitcom "Friends," Friends

Again (Nov. 2), will feature a mix of old and new tracks and covers

from the likes of pop acts Smash Mouth covering Let's Active's

"Every Word Means No," Semisonic on a re-recording of "Delicious,"

Lisa Loeb on "Summer" and Duncan Sheik performing "View

From the Other Side," according to a label source. Among the collaborations

on the album is a version of the song "Smelly Cat" by actress Lisa Kudrow

and Pretenders singer Chrissie Hynde, as well as a duet

between Green Day singer Billie Joe Armstrong and former

Avengers singer Penelope Houston on the song "Angel and the

Jerk." Also on the LP are singer Robbie Williams, Canadian pop

group the Waltons and Thor-El doing a rap version of the

show's theme song, "Friends Forever (I'll Be There for You)," originally

performed by the Rembrandts.
