The Backstreet Boys have postponed the first two shows of their

fall tour, scheduled for Tuesday (Sept. 14) and Wednesday in Fort

Lauderdale, Fla., because of Hurricane Floyd. Authorities have urged the

evacuation of 2 million people in the southeastern United States, according

to press reports. The shows have been moved to Dec. 5 and 6, according

to Jive Records, the band's label. The tour will now start Friday at

Charlotte Coliseum in Charlotte, N.C. The tour, supporting the multiplatinum

album Millennium (1999), sold out in about an hour last month,

according to the groups' publicists.
