The film, starring Patricia Arquette as a hairdresser who spontaneously receives bleeding stigmata marks, grossed $18.3 million in its debut. The soundtrack to "Stigmata" features songs by Australian singer Natalie Imbruglia, glam legend David Bowie, Icelandic singer Björk, anarchist pop band Chumbawamba, pop-rockers Remy Zero and trip-hoppers Massive Attack.
