Black Star's Mos Def Plans Solo Album

Mos Def, half of the New York underground hip-hop group Black Star, will release his solo debut, Black on Both Sides, Oct. 5 on Rawkus Entertainment, according to a label spokesperson. The 26-year-old rapper was featured prominently on the label's mix-tape compilation Rawkus Soundbombing II (1999).
