Power-pop pioneers Cheap Trick will celebrate their 25th anniversary Aug. 28 in their hometown, Rockford, Ill., with a show featuring surprise guests, strings, a high-school choir and a drum corps, according to a group spokesperson. The concert is the centerpiece of the Trickfest 3 fan gathering. String players from the Rockford Symphony Orchestra will accompany the band, as will the Rock Valley High School Choir. For the show's finale, the 36-piece Phantom Regiment Drum Corps will join drummer Bun E. Carlos on a rare lead vocal on the song "Who Da King." The band has promised to perform at least one song from each of its albums.
