Everclear singer Art Alexakis and touring guitarist Brian Lehfeldt were charged Friday (Aug. 6) with attacking a 17-year-old fan at a show a week earlier in Austin, Texas, police said. "The singer and guitarist confronted the person for throwing a drink at the stage," Austin police spokesperson Leslie Levine said, reading from a statement. "It turned out that the victim ... did not throw anything." Police refused to release additional details about the July 31 incident at the Austin Music Hall, citing an ongoing probe. Alexakis is due in court Aug. 24 and faces a fine of no more than $475, according to a representative of the Austin Municipal Court Clerk. No court information was available for Lehfeldt, who faces a more serious misdemeanor charge.
