Billy Bragg To Release Rarities
Reaching to the Converted to include Beatles, Left Bankecovers.
Politicized singer/songwriter Billy Bragg will release a
compilation of songs previously unavailable in the United States next
month. Reaching to the Converted (Aug. 31) includes "Shirley"
— an unreleased take on his song "Greetings to the New Brunette,"
recorded with former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr —
along with covers of the Left Banke's "Walk Away Renee" and the
Beatles' "She's Leaving Home." Bragg kicks off a U.S. tour Aug.
30.
