VH1 is saluting the "100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll," with a five-night, five-hour series from July 26-30 at 10 p.m. (EDT/PDT). Counting down from #100 (Erykah Badu) to #1 (Aretha Franklin), each night's episode will showcase 20 artists through vintage performance clips and new interviews. Each segment will be hosted by different celebrities, starting with Jennifer Lopez, then Geri Halliwell, Juliana Margulies, Courteney Cox and Susan Sarandon. Among the 100 performers spotlighted in the series are Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, Chrissie Hynde, Lena Horne, Tina Turner, Stevie Nicks, Annie Lennox, Cher and Dolly Parton. According to VH1, a panel of more than 300 women, including politicians, musicians, writers, actresses and fashion figures, selected the top 100. Among the celebrity panelists were singers Ronnie Spector and Lauryn Hill.
