Woodstock '99 Plans Emerging-Artists Stage

Ben Lee, Supersuckers, Indigenous among unsigned and independent-label acts set for venue.

Ben Lee, the Supersuckers, Indigenous, 2 Skinnee J's, Pushmonkey and the Chris Perez Band will play Woodstock '99 as part of the emerging-artists stage, festival publicists announced Thursday (July 15). The stage is reserved for unsigned and independent-label acts. Among the other performers announced for the stage are the Gargantua Stepmothers, Gigolo Aunts, Muse, Big Sugar and King Konga. The stage is a joint production of the Woodstock organizers and AMP3.com, an online MP3 clearinghouse for new and unsigned bands. The festival takes place July 23–25 at Griffiss Technology Park, a decommissioned Air Force base in Rome, N.Y.
