Funk godfather George Clinton has been recording a new album with
Parliament/Funkadelic bassist Bootsy Collins and keyboardist
Bernie Worrell, and will perform with them at Woodstock '99, according to a
publicist for Mammoth Records. Mammoth will release a new Funkadelic album, the first
to be issued under that name since 1981's The Electric Spanking of War
Babies, in October. An album from Funkadelic's sister band, Parliament,
featuring the same lineup, is due next year. Red Hot Chili
Peppers bassist Flea, Henry Rollins and Shock-G of the
hip-hop group Digital Underground are all slated for guest appearances on the
Funkadelic album.
