Underground collage band Negativland will play their first shows in six years
later this month with a three-date swing through the Pacific Northwest. The first show of
the tour, which a band publicist said will include almost all new material and will use five
movie projectors, three slide machines and a television, is scheduled for July 15 at the
Yo Yo a Go Go festival in Olympia, Wash. It will be followed with performances July 16 in
Seattle and July 17 in Portland, Ore. Negativland gained notoriety with their 1991 EP
U2, for which they were sued by Irish rock superstars U2's label and
publishing company; the EP was eventually recalled and destroyed.
