Hollywood Rockwalk Inducts Carlton, Satriani

Guitarists Larry Carlton, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai

and Jimmie Vaughan were inducted Thursday (June 3) into Hollywood's

Rockwalk, a sidewalk gallery on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. The

four guitar greats placed their handprints and signatures in wet cement

during the afternoon ceremony, joining such inductees as former Beach

Boy Brian Wilson, blues star B.B. King and rockers Alice

Cooper, Kiss, Santana and Aerosmith. Carlton

has played with artists ranging from former Beatle John Lennon to

the Grateful Dead's Jerry Garcia, while Vaughan -- the

older brother of the late Stevie Ray Vaughan -- co-founded the

Fabulous Thunderbirds. Satriani and Vai (who took guitar lessons

from Satriani as a youth) also have successful solo careers as rock guitarists.
