Britain's postal service defended a new stamp honoring late Queen
singer Freddie Mercury after a columnist for England's Daily
Mail complained that Mercury had a "degenerate lifestyle." "Every
stamp is approved by the queen, including this one," the Royal Mail
postal service said. Columnist Simon Heffer wrote that Mercury (born
Frederick Bulsara) was someone "whose degenerate lifestyle
caused him to die of AIDS at an unfortunately early age."
