Steely Dan Alumnus May Run For Congress

Onetime Steely Dan and Doobie Brothers guitarist Jeff

"Skunk" Baxter is expected to run for Congress next year as a

representative of the San Fernando Valley region of California, according

to the New York Times. The Times quoted Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va.,

as saying Baxter would run as a Republican to

attract nontraditional voters to the GOP ticket. Other outsider candidates

reportedly include several former professional wrestlers who wish to

follow in the footsteps of Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura.
