Rapper Heavy D has signed a deal with Bad Boy Entertainment to
develop and produce two or three new acts a year, he said Thursday (May
13). The deal was signed last week, he said. He did not name any of the
acts with whom he will be working. The 32-year-old artist is close friends
with Sean "Puffy" Combs, Bad Boy's chief executive officer; they
grew up together in Mount Vernon, N.Y. Heavy D (born Dwight Meyers) will
release his next album, Heavy, June 15 on Universal Records.
