Rappers Kane & Abel Plead Not Guilty

Identical-twin rappers Kane & Abel pleaded not guilty to felony

drug charges in a New Orleans courtroom Tuesday (May 11), according to

their lawyer, Richard Westling. Dressed in khakis and Tommy Hilfiger

shirts, the 22-year-old No Limit rappers and authors (born David

and Daniel Garcia, respectively) spent 10 minutes before a judge,

who ordered them to appear in court for a trial to begin June 1. The two

were among six men charged with being part of a cocaine-distribution

ring run by New Orleans drug kingpin Richard Pena. The Garcias were

charged with conspiracy to possess cocaine with intent to distribute.

This month the twins published "Eyes of a Killer/Behind Enemy Lines," a

book containing two novellas. "Eyes of a Killer" tells the story of a

teen caught up in the New Orleans drug underworld.
