The Goo Goo Dolls were in New York on Friday (May 7) to announce the release of an anti-violence guide for youth produced by MTV and the U.S. Departments of Justice and Education. One million copies of the 24-page guide will be given away to young people. It highlights ways individuals can reduce violence in their communities and comes with a CD featuring tracks by Lauryn Hill, Alanis Morissette, Tori Amos, the Backstreet Boys and others. A website for the program (www.fightforyourrights.mtv.com) includes anti-violence messages from Beastie Boy Adam Yauch and other celebrities.
