Suicidal Tendencies played an unannounced set at the kickoff
party for the Vans Warped Tour on Thursday night (May 6) at the Key Club
in Los Angeles. The Venice, Calif., punk band, which will release its
first album in five years May 18 -- Freedumb -- was one of four
Warped bands who played the party. Also performing were New York hardcore
quintet H20 and California's 7Seconds and Straight Faced.
"It's a great opportunity for us because a lot of people will be coming
to see other bands, but it's not who you come to see it's who you're
talking about when you leave," Suicidal Tendencies singer Mike Muir
said of the tour, which kicks off June 25 in San Antonio, Texas, and also
features rappers Cypress Hill and Ice-T
and punk bands Blink 182 and Pennywise.
