Rocker David Bowie served as guest designer for the summer issue
of Zoetrope: All Story, a short-fiction magazine founded by film
director Francis Ford Coppola. The cover of the issue, which can be seen
at www.zoetrope-stories.com, features a Bowie self-portrait, and he
illustrated each story in the magazine. Bowie, whose most recent album
was the electronica-infused Earthling (1997), has devoted increasing
amounts of time over the years to his work as a visual artist, which
has been shown in galleries throughout Europe.
