Spandau Ballet Members Lose Royalties Bid

Three founding members of the new-wave band Spandau Ballet have

lost a court bid for up to 1 million pounds ($1.6 million) in

songwriting royalties from the band's songwriter and guitarist, Gary

Kemp, according to Britain's Press Association news service.

A London judge was quoted as saying the case by singer Tony

Hadley, guitarist/sax player Steve Norman and drummer John

Keeble "fails in its entirety." The magistrate determined that the

three plaintiffs had neither an oral nor a written agreement with Kemp

entitling them to songwriting royalties.
