Jazzman Red Norvo Dead At 91

Jazz musician Red Norvo, one of the first jazz vibraphonists,

died Tuesday (April 6) in Santa Monica, Calif., less than a week after

his 91st birthday, according to a spokesperson at Fireside Convalescent

Hospital. Born Kenneth Norville in Beardstown, Ill., Norvo performed

with such greats as Charles Mingus and Frank Sinatra.
