Wu-Tang Clan rapper Method Man (born Clifford Smith) is scheduled
to be deposed in Chicago on April 5 for a civil case in which the band is accused of
beating a Loud Records representative after a concert in August 1997, according to Jim
Zouras, a lawyer for the plaintiff. The case is tied up on procedural grounds concerning
whether certain bandmembers were properly served with court papers. In his deposition,
Method Man -- who was properly served, according to Zouras -- will address only that
technical matter and not the charges at the heart of the suit.
