Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, who recently played seven sold-out shows at

San Francisco's Fillmore Auditorium, will play three shows at Irving Plaza in New York in

April, according to the band's publicity company, the Mitch Schneider Organization. The

shows, on April 11, 12 and 15, will coincide with the April 13 release of their new album,

Echo. Petty and the band, who are planning a major tour in the summer, also will

appear on "Saturday Night Live" on April 10 and "Late Show With David Letterman" on

April 13. Tickets for the Irving Plaza shows go on sale Saturday (March 27).
