Beck Plays Oscar Party

Beck rocked an audience that included Primus' Les Claypool, Minnesota Gov. Jesse Ventura and actors Giovanni Ribisi ("Saving Private Ryan," "The Mod Squad") and Patricia Arquette ("True Romance") at a post-Academy Awards party Sunday at the House of Blues in West Hollywood. He opened and closed his hour-plus set with a cover of Eddy Grant's 1983 hit "Electric Avenue," infusing it with his characteristic junkyard sonics. Beck, accompanied by a seven-piece band, also played "Loser," "Where It's At" and "Tropicalia."
