Bruce Springsteen has filed a countersuit in federal court against two
New Jersey companies that tried to release an album of early Springsteen
demos, according to the Bergen Record newspaper. Pony Express
Records and JEC Music sued Springsteen last year, claiming he used his
influence in the music industry to block the release of Before the Fame.
The singer claims the companies have no right to the recordings. In December,
he won a similar case in England involving the Before the Fame songs.
