Aerosmith Song Up For Oscar Award

Veteran hard-rock act Aerosmith's "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from the movie "Armageddon" and singer/songwriter Randy Newman's "That'll Do" from "Babe: Pig in the City" were nominated for Original Song Academy Awards on Tuesday (Feb. 9). The Aerosmith song was penned by hit-maker Diane Warren, who was also nominated for a Grammy for the same track. Last year's Oscar winner was the inescapable "Titanic" hit "My Heart Will Go On," written by James Horner and Will Jennings and sung by Canadian diva Celine Dion. Also nominated for an Original Song Oscar this year was "The Prayer," written by a group including Carole Bayer Sager ("That's What Friends Are For") for the animated film "Quest for Camelot."
