R&B singer Gwen Guthrie, who had a hit in 1986 with "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On But

the Rent," died Feb. 3 in Orange, N.J., of uterine cancer, according to The Associated

Press. "Ain't Nothin' Goin' On" is sampled on "JOB," a song on Foxy Brown's

Roberta Flack and the rock band Steely Dan. She launched her solo

career with a self-titled 1982 album.
