Experimental punk stalwarts Fugazi plan to release their documentary home
video, Instrument, in late February or early March, according to a spokeswoman
with the band's Dischord Records label. The 115-minute work interweaves concert,
studio, interview and fan footage, using several types of film in what director Jem
Cohen (Elliott Smith, R.E.M.) has said is an attempt to bring
dub-music style techniques to moviemaking. An instrumental soundtrack for the film,
featuring all new music, will be released later in 1999.
