'Boss' May Release 'The Fever'

Bruce Springsteen offered a bit of potential good news for his die-hard fans during an interview on PBS' "Charlie Rose Show" on Friday, as he talked about why the oft-bootlegged tunes "The Promise" and "The Fever" were left off his new box set. The rock singer/songwriter said "The Fever" -- which he revealed was never a favorite song of his -- was pulled from the set for sequencing reasons but may still see the light of day as a B-side, if a single is issued from Tracks. He said, however, that recordings of "The Promise" were "plodding" and "heavy-handed," so it is likely to remain in the vaults.
